At Wultra, we develop authentication and cybersecurity solutions for banks and fintech companies worldwide. We are looking for a Legal & Regulatory Counsel who will help us navigate the evolving regulatory landscape, shape our technology solutions, and explore new opportunities in international markets.
This is an opportunity to work on exciting projects in digital identity, financial regulation, and cybersecurity, with a direct impact on both our products and business.
What Will You Do?
- Turn regulation into opportunities
- Monitor and analyze relevant EU and international technology and financial regulations (such as DORA, NIS2, eIDAS, PSD3/PSR), assess their impact on our products and customers, and help sales and marketing teams identify new business opportunities across international markets.
- Navigate technology contracts and data protection
- Work with customer agreements and legal documentation, assess contractual and GDPR requirements, and provide practical legal guidance on matters related to our technology solutions.
- Support customer compliance
- Help respond to legal and regulatory inquiries from customers, particularly banks and other regulated institutions, including compliance questionnaires and customer-specific requirements.
- Bridge legal requirements and technology
- Work closely with product, development, and security teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical recommendations and help shape compliant technology solutions.
- Support broader legal matters
- Contribute to corporate and operational legal matters, including international expansion, establishment of foreign entities, and other legal and compliance activities across the company, working alongside our external legal advisors.
We Are a Good Fit If You...
- Have a university degree in law, preferably Czech law, and at least 2–3 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in a technology company, financial institution, consultancy, or law firm.
- Have a strong interest in technology, cybersecurity, and EU digital regulation and enjoy understanding how technology works.
- Can research, interpret, and apply complex legislation independently. You don't need to know every regulation by heart, but you should be able to connect legal requirements with real-world technical and business implications.
- Have experience with commercial contracts and a good understanding of GDPR, ideally with exposure to technology-related agreements. Feel comfortable reviewing legal documentation and addressing contractual questions.
- Can communicate complex legal topics clearly and practically, whether you're talking to developers, sales colleagues, or customers.
- Are proactive, analytical, and independent, with a practical mindset and attention to detail.
- Have excellent Czech and English skills, both written and spoken.
Nice to Have
- Experience with EU technology and financial regulation, such as DORA, NIS2, eIDAS, PSD2/PSD3, or the Cyber Resilience Act.
- Familiarity with digital identity, electronic identification, authentication, or trust services.
- Experience with public procurement or regulatory aspects of public tenders, particularly in the IT sector.
